What the site covers
Short city breaks in Europe, mainly reached by train: how rail tickets, reservations and night trains work, how to spend a few days in a handful of cities, and the entry rules, money, phone and packing details that help a short trip run smoothly.
About the name
Eva Travels is the name of the website, kept from an earlier travel-guides site on this address. It is not a person, and the guides are not written as one traveller's diary. They are written in a neutral house voice.
Where the information comes from
The guides draw on public information from rail operators, city and national tourism bodies, heritage organisations such as UNESCO, and the European Union's official pages on travel and borders, together with general travel knowledge. Journey times are given as rough ranges. Prices, opening hours and timetables are left out because they change too often to print reliably.
Who the guides are for
The guides are written for independent travellers who book their own trains and rooms: first-time visitors to Europe working out how the rail network fits together, Europeans looking for an easy long weekend without flying, and anyone who prefers one small bag and a city they can cross on foot. Each city guide assumes a short stay of two to four days and suggests one or two day trips by public transport.
What the site does not do
Eva Travels is not a travel agent, rail operator or tourism office. It doesn't sell tickets, rooms or tours, it doesn't accept payment for coverage, and there are no partner or affiliate links on the site. Hotels and businesses are not named or ranked.
How to use these guides
Read a guide early to shape the trip: which base, which day trips, which tickets to book first. Then, in the week before you leave, open the official sites for your trains, timed-entry sights and the EU entry rules, because those details are the ones most likely to have moved since a page was written.
